I set up a Linux hosting package for one of my customers on Fasthosts. I created a MySQL database. Installed Wordpress 2.5 and found it was very slow loading from the start. Now all I get is a server 500 error. Fasthosts say it must be a coding or permissions error. But the install is fresh and I've double checked the rar file was not corrupted. The error log is reporting: [Wed Apr 9 10:38:49 2008] [error] [client 87.194.233.163] FastCGI: comm with (dynamic) server "/var/www/fcgi/php-cgi" aborted: (first read) idle timeout (30 sec) [Wed Apr 9 10:38:49 2008] [error] [client 87.194.233.163] FastCGI: incomplete headers (0 bytes) received from server "/var/www/fcgi/php-cgi" Any ideas?
That is weird.... if it was a fresh install it should never say that... I think its a problem with Fasthost.
is it Internet explorer (firefox will say insufficient permission . . .) that is spitting out the 500 error? if so this might fix it.
You could try this.. If you have Cpanel then install the wp via Fantastico.. then use the wp-automatic upgrade plugin to upgrade it to the latest 2.5... Even if then the error occurs then there is some problem with the host...
