Does anyone know what has changed in this version? I can't notice the difference and couldn't find any info on their site.

    Source from Wordpress

    http://wordpress.org/development/2008/04/wordpress-251/

Version 2.5.1 of WordPress is now available. It includes a number of bug fixes, performance enhancements, and one very important security fix. We recommend everyone update immediately, particularly if your blog has open registration. The vulnerability is not public but it will be shortly.

Upgraded 3, 2 working fine, 1 (of course the main one) will not display at all.
Trying everything, including reverting back to 2.5.

I am sick of upgrading every 2 months !

I am facing very odd issues. My blog was working fine until two days back. But now it started to show dashboard awkwardly, while loading it shows small boxes near start as well as after loading.

My blog doesn't show up now. I am truly tensed. Also, while loading dashboard, it accesses a site namely apartment-mall.cm/ind.php

Is it because of that security leak, Should I upgrade? I contacted my host, will get her reply soon.
I guess, I should but the fantastico tool doesn't offer ver 2.5.1 yet.

Can someone here help me on installing it manually, or some kind of a guide or something .... Thanks

    The way I upgrade is:
Download the new version...open it on your computer and delete "config-sample.php", "plugins.php", and "themes.php".

Select all, and copy....drop the new files on the root.
Works fine, except with the one blog, and I cannot get it to work.

How did you know that these three files should be deleted? Just out of curiosity ....

I understand about config sample but why plugins and themes?

    wp-config-sample.php correct?

    Plugins.php and Themes.php under wp-admin, right?

I have upgraded as you told but am getting the same kind of error now. When disabled a plugin namely cforms

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/seocomfo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/global-translator/header.php:352) in /home/seocomfo/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 694

    What is the reason?

    or this error

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/seocomfo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cforms/editor.php:197) in /home/seocomfo/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 694

The errors you are getting, I have had before. Make sure that you disable all plug ins when doing the upgrade.
I choose to not install those files, because I didn't want to loose what I have...my themes, and plug ins, and installing new files would have done that.

It's the same as backing them up, and reinstalling them. Just make sure that there is nothing in them that is new.

When ever I had errors such as yours, I had to contact my host.
I am no expert, it is mostly trial and error with me.

Short of issues with plugin/theme compatibility, unless you allow users to upload images or any other form of media, there's no real reason to upgrade just yet. All they've done is given the Admin panel an illogical revamp, "web 2.0" style.
