great.. just after i had updated all my blogs just a few days ago.. i gotta do it again now! Thanks for posting
No. This update doesn't alter your theme(s) or plugins. Just unzip and upload the files to the respective folders on your server and you won't even notice the difference.
Fantastico takes a while to update. I'm waiting on it too. Does anyone know of the following problem: After pressing "publish" you get a download window with "download post.php" in it. IE goes to a default 404 page. The post is posted, but it doesn't give confirmation. Some of my contributors are confused by it and are posting more than once without checking the front page.
If one installs the wp-content folder, yes the default template if being used will get affected, if changes were made to it. Best way to update: 1. Delete entire wp-admin, wp-includes folder and all the other files in the main root folder. 2. Donot delete: wp-config & .htaccess from the root, donot delete wp-content folder. 3. Unzip the new zip from wordpress intall all files and folders. Do not install wp-contents folder, .htaccess and wp-config - if it exist.
Let me also suggest that if you're fascile enough with Wordpress and just want the necessary files to update, go to this link: http://markjaquith.wordpress.com/20...ed-files-zip-changes-diff-changed-files-list/ and get the zip. It'll save you some time.
Thanks minstrel for the information and humm for the guide. At the moment i am still using the old version 1.53. I do not know how to update it as previously was done by my friend whoes helping me out. If i upgrade it, will all my post turn into 0?
You can get specific instructions on upgrading from the Wordpress website. No. You won't lose any posts or any comments.
Incase you need my help let me know, I will do it for free for you, don't worry on that. We will backup the site n the database and then a new version installation will be made. Incase you wanna do it, follow the link minstrel gave, wordpress has mentioned all the procedure there.
Thanks minstrel for the guiding link and also thanks humm for a kind help. I am learning on the upgrading thing on a local server before updating the live server. Everything works fine on the local. Will be updating it soon. Thanks dp member.
Geeze, heaven save us from these "minimum post count" posts Look, guidezone, this is the second pointless post from you I've read in a few minutes. Go pad your post count in the General Chat threads or something.
