Wordpess version 2.5.1

    anybody used the version? i just upgrade to that version & SEF not working, i wana go downgrade. anybody know what to do ? :mad::mad::mad:

    If you followed the directions, you should have made a backup of all your data. Just reinstall it. I've upgrade about 6 sites to 2.5.1 and haven't had any major problems. Perhaps you can check the wordpress forums to see if there is a solution to your plugin problem.

    wordpress 2.5.1 is good. no bugs anymore.

    to downgrade. just reinstall the old version. you an download them in wordpress.org archives.

    I dont like the idea of configuring widgets on 2.5.1.
    previously it was easy to remove/add the widgets.

    Maybe you should try a fresh re-install of 2.5.1 once you've installed your back up.:cool:

    Should work then.

    Wordpress 2.5.1 rocks! SEF is not working for a reason.... there was a bug in 2.5 actually. all you gotta do is press update your permalinks once and everything will be back to normal... cheerios!

    agree with you. that's the only thing i hate in this version. i like the widget styles in 2.3.3

    How do you enable SEF Urls? is it a plugin or within WP already?

    Its within wordpress already. To enable sef urls you will need to update your permalink structure accordingly

    Check this out pipes: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks

    As an example if you want your posts to be managed under categories in terms of SEF... all you have to do is add
    %category%%postname% and press update permalinks! Voila you are done!

    Thanks very much godsofchaos, il have a read of it right now, is it a bad idea to change settings like that say if a blog was established already or is it ok either way?

    Ive done that now, fortunately my blog is brand new, officially completed yesterday.

    I have another blog thats been up for about 2 weeks, would it be ok to set the custom permalink structure on the 2 week old blog? to be honest i didn't understand this permalink thing until you explained and having read that link info too.

    Now i know to set it this way for any other new WP blogs that i create.
