WordBay - new FREE WordPress/eBay plugin: create a niche site in minutes!

Will do, the plugin is more-or-less finished actually - just working on the admin backend (the fiddly bit) and hope to have a version out by the end of the week. It might be slightly more limited than this "template" version to begin with, I want to make sure the basic functionality is working before extending it.

 

Thanks for this Mark, looks quite good, if only i knew enough CSS to get it to work with some other templates, will the 'new' version make it easy for novices like myself to do that? I like the 2 column format allowing for 2 ebay countries but I'll be damned if I can get it to work with any template other than evanescence, which I don't really like

One thing I noticed, in any upgrade is it possible to have the times for other locales shown in local time? As mine seems to display UK times in PDT or have I missed something??

 

Hi, you're right - it is pretty fiddly to get working in other templates because of all the sidebars and what-not. The new version will work in any template because it will only change the post/page contents, like a proper plugin should So you can lose Evanescence, although as I said, the first new version of WordBay will only have one panel - want to get that working properly!

Yes, good point about the time, it's a standing problem with using the eBay RSS feed. I was actually thinking of recalculating the time so that it shows "time left" rather than "finishing time", that will solve the problem for all locales. I can see Pacific Daylight time is not that much use - I'm not exactly in that zone myself..! Have added to the wish-list.

Seriously though, there is no ulterior motive, except the hope that users will consider using the generosity option to slip me a few impressions.

Let me know how you get on with it, and let's hope things pick up with eBay, because right now the majority of EPN users seem to be having a disaster...

By the way, this thread got resurrected and as a result people are having a look at my old Used Musical Instruments example site. Just to point out this was done with an old implementation of the extension which I've now deprecated, so you should look at Vintage Point demo site if you want to see the new plugin in action - some of the stuff from the old plugin isn't there (the two country panels, notably, though I do plan to reintroduce this), but it works better and more efficiently, and less buggily
