Hi DigitalPoint Now i have to admit, im not a pro in word processing. I write a few emails, send invoices and thats it. However ive come across a job which has created a bit of a problem. Microsoft Word 2003. Ok, so we have a lot of documents which are used as templates all the time. These " templates " are basic word documents, however they have grey boxes in the areas of which information needs to be entered into. Staff can press tab between these grey boxes, and they are automatically moved into the correct text space to enter the information. So in basic terms, we have a word document which you can edit quickly via pressing tab... It moves to these grey boxes throughout the document. Now, i am assigned to creating more of these templated documents. Im trying to work out, how exactly to create these grey boxes which allow the document editor to quickly skip through the required sections of the document via tab. Can anyone assist? If so i can give them some $$$ Im not sure if its autotext feature, a macro or a form field :/ Best Regards, Logan
Hi Logan, I think what you are looking for is Field. Go to Insert > Field and you will have the grey boxes. You can custom your text using the Autotext function. Hope this helps.
Yeah, sounds like it is Field for the grey boxes All we want is the grey boxes, but the feature/function of being able to press tab and skip between these grey boxes if you know what i mean? Thanks for your assistance
They aren't autotext, we need to have templates setup where staff can press tab to skip between fields of required info. If anyone can help = $$$.
