I have a question about word press blogs. Does it matter how many tags you in the post. Can you have to many. Say for example you are doing blog on dating. One tag may be Ohio dating. One tag may be ohio dating. Can you ad the the other 49 states as tags or is this to many. Is there also a bulk uploader plug in for word press? thanks
I dont think you can have too many, but it would just be silly to have that many tags for one post. Since, obviously, your post is not about a specific location, there is no need to specify a location in the tags. Just use "dating" or "united states dating" instead of listing all the states since its a general dating post. If you want to, create different posts for each state, and then add the tag to them specifying the state. That way when a user searches "ohio dating" they will get the specific article thats on ohio dating. If you have all 50 tags on one post and they search ohio dating, they might get that post, but its not dealing with ohio dating, so its useless to them. So basically what im saying is that it would be silly to list that many tags for one post but you can do it, I believe.
Do you mention all the states in the post? It 's just like adding meta tags. Why adding any that do not exist in the content. Because you want to rank for it? Then why didn't you add it into the content? I usually work the other way around. Figure out the specific keyword for a page. Only a few. And then position them in the right places. Internal links, meta tags, first paragraph, etc, etc. Then write the text around it. No point in having 52 keywords on a single page and trying to rank for all of them. You can't get good positioning and density for so many keywords on one page. Write more pages instead. All with only a few keywords.
Now that is great information for a "newbie" like me. I've got to get the keyword stuff down much better. My click rates are hot garbage right now... with an over 98% bounce! Yikes!
