word press blog and google cache

I launched quite a few blogs a couple months back. I finally got around recently to designing my custom designs for the themes of each site.

I fixed up the categories and activated the dagon sitemap generator.

When I add new content, I notice google is grabbing it within minutes of my articles being posted which is great because the new content is being indexed instantly.

But what I can't figure out, the cache is taking like 2 weeks to change. So that means when a page returns in the results, and someone clicks on the cache link, all they see is the old garbage.

Is there a way to get the cache to update the site and pages more quickly? It seems when a design changes or even when categories change, it does not encourage google to update the cache. I have even changed the content on pages to test and see if the cache changes but it doesn't.

No that is not what that means. Cache is simply a backup Google keeps, when a user clicks the link their computer downloads your site from your hosting server, not from Google's cache.

When a person clicks on the cache link, it does NOT go to your server. It goes to google's cached page.
