Word Press API where is it?

I have a Word Press blog and I'm trying to install Akismet. It's asking for a Word Press API, but I can't find it. On the Word Press site it says the API is on your profile page, but it's not there. My hosting company uses Fantastico. All I had to do to set up my blog was click on the Word Press plug in. Where is my API? Or how can I get the API if my blog is already exsisting?

    Thanks

You have to sign up as a member at http://wordpress.com/api-keys/ as if you were going to use them to host your blog (even though you're not) and then you get the API key.

I was wondering if that's what I had to do.

    Thanks minstrel! :)

Can I use this API Key for other blogs I own? Or do I have to get a different one for each blog?

I believe you only need one API. That's the way it works everywhere else, anyway.
