Contest Wood/Nature Logo Contest $30 - 48hrs

Hello, it's been many years since I last logged in, great to see the community still alive!

I need a logo that reads the german word: Naturholz

It is actually two words Natur (nature) and Holz (wood) and it kind of means natural wood or raw wood so basically wood that is untreated/raw. I recommend you do an image search on Google so you get inspired and understand the kind of wood and wood products we plan on selling but we will also do simple decking boards and wood flooring so regular lumber products could also be part of the logo.

I was thinking it would be great if the process from living trees to wood products is visible in the name but not in a destroying nature vibe if you know what I mean, this is not what we stand for - quite the opposite, think roots and leaves and then some boards and/or raw wood and logs but I don't want to influence your creativity too much, you might have a better idea that captures the essence of the brand name, in the end it should not be too complicated or crowded, just a simple but clever text based design that combines wood and nature but leans more on the product itself.

The contest ends in 48hrs and the winner gets $30.

@BagusDesign - I don't really like it unfortunately, I can't say there is really an element I am happy with, the L as an axe is too much and the O is too busy but thank you for joining the contest!

@Athisa - Thank you, I am guessing the logo in front is a tree, well I sort of like it in general but it is just too modern for the brand and does't have the feel of nature in it.

Just thinking out loud to give some more ideas, perhaps some letters could be rooted and be branches, I don't want to say there has to be a tree, you might have a better concept but probably this is the right direction, please read my intro again. Maybe "Natur" is a tree and "Holz" is Wood products, maybe H is made of some decking boards, O is a wood cookie, L is a raw tree board for a table with character and Z some lumber joined together like in a roof, obviously doing all this might make it way too busy but I just want to give you some more ideas to work with.

Thank you @Blkstrdst this is going in the direction I would like to see but it is not what I am looking for yet, maybe there is improvement possible with colours and font and perhaps it could be wood products incorporated, maybe the word Holz can be lumber for example but it needs to stay clean and be a gradual transition from nature to lumber if you want to try this route. But yes so far it is the entry that most suits the business.

 

Thank you @pehulz - you have read my suggestions but as I said doing everything at once might make it look too busy which it does, it also looks a bit cartoonish which I am not a big fan of, I would like it too look more natural.

 

This contest ends today, we are not quite there yet but there will be a winner regardless, a simple/clean but clever design will win this most likely.

@Blkstrdst - thanks for trying again, while it is a nice logo with a certain charm it just is too cartoonish, I even prefer your first try over this one tbh.

@getdomain4u - it is a good effort but way too busy and I really don't like the guy with the axe, the tree is just ok and the lettering and O is also not my preference I think with some tweaks to make it more simple/clean this has potential tho

@BagusDesign - out of those two I prefer the second version but I do not like the arrow pointing down and the tree could be more live like (think wild branches) if this is the only element that is not text (play around with the font too), I get what story you are trying to tell but it needs some work to get there, maybe it can have roots and a slap of wood underneath that is connected, like a real nice slab of wood (google this to see what beautiful designs nature creates), I think the concept has good potential but needs some work

Thank you for your entries guys, this contest will end in like 4-5 hours. I just have a few minutes right now before leaving again so I can not give much feedback unfortunately. Out of all those new entries I only really like the entry from @3SS and could see using this as a logo, it is simple/clean and tells the story fairly well of what we are trying to sell, I would have liked the products and/or nature to be more a part of the text but I guess it will make it look too busy.
