Hi all, I am very new to this adsense stuff and just recently created my own blog. I used blogger.com and there is info there about how to get adsense on my blog. Im kind of apprehensive about doing something like this, but I am also curious. How well does this program work? What kind of headaches are involved? Any information about this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ya'll.
AdSense (especially with Blogger) is extremely easy to use. Signing up and getting your PIN number is relatively painless, and I personally think blending/placing your ads is even easier. You can find the answer to almost any AdSense question on DP or by doing a Google search. One note for a blog: You should place a vertical ad on the left side of the page. Here is one of my blogs with this layout: http://investing1848.blogspot.com. For me (and many other people I have talked to) this ad unit has the highest CTR. Hopefully this helped you a little bit. Feel free to ask any other questions, and most importantly, DON'T EVER CLICK YOUR OWN ADS!
Headaches yes...., 1) you will get a li'l paranoide about someone clickbombing you. 2) you'll get addicted to check your stats ones in every hour or less. 3) you will start thinking that the world wouldnt be the same without Adsense. 4) you will..................heck!!!!! you'll just know......
Thanks for the info. I'm not that great with coding and all that, so how would a I code the space for the ads on the left side as you suggested on my blog here: http://cranial-inversion.blogspot.com
Go to the Blogger dash board>Templates. Scroll down till you find <!-- begin sidebar --> in the codes. In the side bar sections find the code <!-- <p>This is a paragraph of text that could go in the sidebar.</p> --> Replace this code with your adsense codes and save, republish and see how your ads look. Thanks, glad you liked it.
It really depends. It is not some kind of panacea where you just write a 250 world blog once a month, and have money flow in from adsense. It is real work and it is not easy. That being said, you have nothing to lose and a lot to learn, so there is no time to start like the present. I suggest you read over the rules and terms of service for Adsense like 10 times, then determine if that seems reasonable to you, and then go ahead and apply for an account.
