I won an auction on sedo.com last week and I paid the day I won. I haven't heard anything back from them. How long does this process take? Can anyone help?
It differs a lot, and is mostly dependent on the seller's speed of response. Sedo typically send a note to the seller immediately after the end of the auction, and ask them to say where the domain is held and who will be dealing with the transfer. After payment has cleared, they ask the seller to start the process of transferring the domain. In many cases that involves just pushing the domain to Sedo's escrow account at the old registrar. At least that's the case for many big registrars. That can be done in minutes. Even an inter-registrar transfer rarely takes more than a week.
I have sold domains through sedo in the past and usually takes just a couple of days for everything to finish. After the buyer has paid the agreed amount of funds the seller must push the domain to sedo's own domain register account. After that they send the domain to you. But you should be getting emails and feedback from sedo along the way.
Sounds good....I just checked a section of the site I haven't used before and it mentioned that they were contact the seller to push it through on friday.
