Won a contest - Never got the prize

    Hi,

A couple of months ago, I participated in a contest organized by a blogger. I was one of the three winners and should have gotten a small prize (a free book).

The owner of the website emailed me, asked for my address and guess what, I never got the book. A little while ago, I sent a friendly email asking him if he had sent the book. He never replied. Sent a second email a couple of weeks later, still no reply.

I'm a bit upset... I don't care that much about the prize and I would have understood if he had trouble sending the book (busy, post office strike, lost the book etc.) but just ignoring me is annoying.

What bothers me the most if that this guy has a SEO/ blogging advices blog and strongly emphasizes on being honest, delivering good content, never lying to your readers etc. He also has another contest going on where he promises great prizes... which I think his readers won't get!

Do you think I should nag him a bit and explain that it's not okay to scam people? Or should I just drop it?

    Your two cents!

I obviously don't want to do anything bad to him, but

Tell him that it's not okay to not give to people, what is promised to them and also remind him that he is lying about being honest and stuff.

Scammer. More people especially on the net are scammer. Some of them launched a contest in order to gain more traffic.

Since he chose the path to cheat people, then let it be, why waste your time on these scammers? It doesn't worth any bit of your time. :D

It happened to me once , I won a contest on a forum and I had to recive a game, the forum and organizers are in the same country as me and only 200km away so mailing the package is not hard or expencive at all.

I gave them my address and everytime I asked them about my prize they keept saying they will send it next week... untill they stopped responding...

Well i personally do my best to make sure people get the rewards from my contests. Just its all bout building a reputation.

for example, i am known as the "Free WoW Gold Dude" as i usta give loads of gold for completing offers and held loads of contents.

If the contest seems to good to be true, its probly not .. that my 3 pennies..

It's so annoying when someone who preaches honesty, etc. would do something like this. But, try to remember that you may not know the whole story. Maybe a family member just got mowed down by a car or something like that and they have been at the hospital for a week. I try to think of things this way when it's something small that's not worth the effort I'm putting into it. And trust me, small little injustices like this could get my blood boiling!!!

And besides, if he truly is being a jerk and just not living up to his end of the bargain, then it will eventually catch up to him and it will hurt his business.

The world is still spinning, so let it go.....
