    Yes I am also talking about reality... Why SC, ST, candidates gets reservation in all categories? There is a reason. And the reason is The caste system.

    So you think its ok to discriminate and limit work and education opportunities based on who your parents were, rather than what you are actually capable of?

    Because from what I can see positive discrimination is about challenging that and showing that people are equal. A successful positive discrimination system eventually peters out because the quotas are filled naturally. Most positive discrimination systems have quotas lower than occur in the population. For instance, it might be that Caste A is 5% of the local population - the quota for University enrolments might be 1%. If all people were equal then Caste A should naturally contribute 5% of all enrolments anyway.

    What actually matters is the ratio. Reservation has advantages and disadvantages. Advantages are like upliftment of backward castes and disadvantages are blocking edu for people who are more capable. The ratio in India is mammoth and the condidtion here is pathetic to say the least.

    Caste System so what.. Genral is also a caste so for them why not reservation?
