Actually, it is harder to get a women pregnant than one might think. There is actually a very small window of time within which a women can get pregnant. The "excitment" thing is hard to explain. For me, as a man, I was beyond excited when my wife told me. It's one of the few times I've cried uncontrollably. A happy cry none-the-less. Now, almost four years later, I am as excited as ever. Having a child is something unbelieveable and amazing. It's about the closest mortal man can become to being God. Creating an image of yourself gives you a feeling of immortality. Beyond that, raising a child and watching every stage in life they go through is more rewarding than anything I have ever done.
It's nice to know some guys actually get excited when their wives get pregnant. After I told my ex about our son, he said "Oh Fuck". And that was after he agreed to start trying again!
It hit me like a ton of bricks. We wanted kids, and had not been trying, intentionaly anyway... I had come home from a bachelor party for a friend of mine who had stood up at my wedding (ironically his wife is pregnant now). We had gone paint balling and drinking. When I got home she asked me to sit down, and said "we need to talk". Usually when you here words like that something bad is coming, so I stood instead. I was just blown away. That sucks... Sometimes things happen for a reason. I'm sure it was for the best. Thank you! He's a wonderful kid, has always been well behaved. Unlike daddy, he is unbelieveably smart. We enrolled him in kindergarten today. He will be starting this fall at age 4! At the moment he as taken over daddys TV and is watching "Thomas and Friends" on my big screen... I bought the big TV for daddy recently, but it seems Taylor has taken it as is own. To think I got to watch things like Mr Rogers and Captain Kangaroo on a 15" black and white TV with that UHF dial. Now he is watching Thomas on a 51" DLP HDTV in HD. Unbelievable! I've been lucky, having my own business, I am able to take my kid to work with me. He's never been in day care. Of course mommy deserves all the credit for his brains and behaivor. I just wish I had time, money and more room, I'd have another.

dude, being a woman is a bitch , periods and pms & god knows what else, plus the childbirth thing ,carrying a bump , 9 months, birth process, they go thru quite a lot of stuff. Hats off to them , they can rightfully crib about it and get excited about it. I just love women ..umm i wud like to get my id changed to philogynist
Hopefully happy! Yeah, and they go through hell! I was walking on glass for 9 LONG months! We had both quit smoking too, so you can only imagine how crazy things were!
After a baby life is never even remotely the same again, it's enriched on so many levels. It's not like getting a dog or something.
You said it.. But after you have a kid, the dog ends up being the next thing you get. At least for me it was.
My wife had a diagnosed medical infertility condition for more than six years. After much prayer by many people, she was healed without medical intervention. Since then she has given birth to our four children. For anyone interested, I share the story in more detail here. I have profound respect for the childbearing and nurturing instinct that I see in my wife, and in so many women in general. It is a beautiful thing!

I understand that a new DP member is trying to make some posts here. I can’t understand why realist have to start with insult for female part of the forum. As I can see nobody (or they are still not responded) share that view. I’d give you a little advice (even that I’m not oldest or most active forum member) – do not be rude and be more tolerant. And it is also wonderful to her partner if they are thinking of possibility to have kids. Of course there are some jack ass which will say “Oh SHIT†but that’s just the kind of realist. Yep you can. Well some people are still living in the monkey stasis of their cerebral development. He can’t. He is actually using his CPU to support his brain. You have to be proud of you, and have full right to be excited – you are medical and engineering miracle – CPU take control over the body of an ass hole. I mean that even that they are stupid, and unmoral they deserve to live as much as we (hopefully) good parents do. No, it doesn’t, but it’s wonderful to know that inside you something is growing, and that thing is going to be a human. It’s that amazing feeling for doing something which will change your life for good, and will give you even more reasons to live that life better than you are living it now. At least I started when I understand that I’m going to be mother. And I didn’t go to doctor to hear that. It was enough to make three tests after I was a week late. Of course I went to doctor and he confirmed that. So who won’t be excited of knowing that (in cases woman want the child)? I don’t think it’s a gift form god. P.L.U.R. And no again, even if he doesn’t want the baby he has to give his pie in raising the child. I think that we have to find a way for brain implantation, so he can understand what shit he is talking (the CUP can’t find what’s stupid and what’s not. He just can find the wrong one. Your wife have to be very happy having you. It’s not that bitch. The pregnancy is another thing – 4 kg. (I prefer using SI) is a lot of weight. I like being a woman and will never complain about that. I don’t like women which use their pms as reason for being bitches. It’s not the best feeling in the world, but you have to take it as whole other unpleasant stuff in that world.
I can see you have little experience with this sort of thing. First it isn’t that easy for a woman to get pregnant, sometimes it may take months and trust me I would know. Being pregnant is a very big deal and I understand very well why woman get exited. My wife might be pregnant (no official confirmation yet ) and I’m also exited.
The thread seems to either a crap or highly philosphical which we are not able to understand . Why a woman only , Man equally get excited and why should not he be ? . The thread seem to be started by a Robot who has no regard for human emotions.
