Is anyone using Wolphram Alpha? If so, how in the world does one really use it?

It is pretty specialized - more for calculating than searching. For instance, finding out your BMI or what a mortgage will cost you.

    Wolfram Apha is genius...

I hope it takes off and becomes very successful, I seen it on the news and they said it was suppose to be the next big thing.

I love wolfram, its a concept that has fascinated me throughout its development.

The ability to ask a search engine direct questions its great and the uses are endless! I love typing my data of birth in, I was 8000 days old the other week ;)

Its an Information Finder rather than a web search engine..

You can get good information regarding places, scientific terms etc..

Its more like a calculator, I guess. I thought it worked like brainboost. I input 'what is the name of the russian prime minister' and it said, it isnt sure what to do with the input. Heck.

Wolfram Alpha is in the works to become something great.. Right now it isent more useful than a wikipedia lookup though.

It does not understand the majority of questions you ask it, so it should really be wolfram Beta..

Alpha is appropriate - software is in alpha before it goes beta.

Wolphram Alpha is great, can't wait to show my kids this site. Excellent source for mathematical and statistics for just about everything.

I think it's pretty overrated. Toyed with it once, but back to Google for me.

It is fun to play with, but so far I have seen no actual uses for it for me.

Wolphram is more like a meta-tag search engine, has nothing to do with real data in real world. I kept going back to do some semantic search but most of the time I got 'not found', 'did not understand' results.
