I am talking about mobile phones.

If you are connecting to the internet via a mobile phone is there a difference between wap and wlan?

Sorry but I didn't know where to post this.

Well as far as I know WLAN and WiFi are pretty much the same, i.e you use an external modem to connect to the internet with greater speeds. But WAP can be used to access only websites which are made for mobiles..not sure though :p
