Google don't show all links when we try link:domainname.com on google.com. One will have full access to all the links that Google counts as Google webmaster Tool
While it's true that the link: search isn't the be all and end all of backlinks to a website, I totally disagree that it's just a random selection of links to any given site. Otherwise each time one looked at it there would be different links shown wouldn't it? That would only make sence if it's just a random links. As I have said before, lately I have noticed that things are changing with the link search. But until recently the links that appeared in the link: search were always from pages that had a pagerank of it's own. One of the best SEO's I know once wrote in his blog that he would troll other peoples websites site: links and get links where there ones were, and it helped him gain his high PR. Cheers Lynny
Yeah, i had also seen, well similar kind of thread was posted over here for a different website few days ago, what google is doing no one knows, website having quality content still at pr 1 or 2,,, and spammy websites got pr 4...
Do you own that site? Google doesn't show all the backlinks of your site. Try to use yahoo it gives all the backlinks the site gathered!
Try Google Webmaster Tools: Signup or login and go to: Links > Pages with external links. I use Yahoo and Google webmaster tools to track links and they both produce very similar results. Also, when using yahoo, make sure to run your query as follows: linkdomain: www.yoursite.com -www.yoursite.com. Doing so returns only links to your site and excludes any links from w/in your site. Make sense? Hope that helps!
