I have recently sold my house which was held in a joint mortgage with my ex. (not married) The Solicitor is witholding the equity from the sale as my ex wouldn't agree to me recieving the money. I held a declaration of trust stating i owned two thirds of the property as i paid all the deposit money when buying the house, the equity left is now 40k less than my original deposit. Is the solicitor legally allowed to withold the money from me? Thanks
