    its on their homepage,see first post of it http://blog.xoom.com/

    i got email from them today morning

    Dear Xoom Customer,

    Xoom no longer accepts Paypal as a funding source for transactions to India.

    We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but would like to remind you that you can still remit money to India by funding your transactions with a United States bank account or a debit or credit card.

    We've made this difficult decision in light of the Reserve Bank of India's concerns about PayPal in India.

    Your money transfers can still be sent for fast deposit to any Indian bank account, door-to-door delivery, or for cash pickup. Xoom continues to offer very competitive exchange rates.

    Regards,

    Xoom Customer Service

    Yes This is not related to Policy Update its related to RBI new rules. But I Think Paypal will implement something for indian users in his next policy that will on March 10, 2010

    :D, i guess the govt has finally woken up to the tremendous amount of money coming in ;
    and wants to tap all sources to figure out how much tax they are losing. ;
    Good for people who acted fast and withdrew all their money; patting myself; ;)

    people find ways to get your money before other options are also blocked. :cool:

    Just got my funds credited via XOOM.
    It was sent by my client from US (source of fund: cc)
    Only intra-india transfers have been cancelled by Xoom (including paypal as a source of fund >> to Indian recipient)

    Even that won't work "chandan123"

    PP is completely disallowed by Xoom now to send money to India. So even if you send to someones PP.. you will have request them to withdraw or fund money from their bank account / Debit Card/ CC.

    Hard earned money is now getting even more harder to receive in your bank account.

    Has anyone tried doing this?

    1)Purchasing a virtual us bank a/c..

    2) Adding it to paypal and withdrawing funds to it

    3) Pay xoom via that us virtual bank a/c and depositing funds in Indian bank?

    if this works we will save a hell lot of fees, as u can see xoom charges only $2-3 if we send them money via US BANK A/C and paypal to us bank a/c is free

    After searching for it on google i have found that withdrawl from Paypal -> Virtual US Bank A/c works perfectly, but i dont know if that funds can be used to send money via xoom also........so please if anyone already has a Virtual US bank a/c , give it a try.....

    It would work, nly if the VISA Debit is already added to your Paypal account. (Most debit cards cannot be added now, Standard Chartered ShopSmart card being confirmed as an exception)
