With Whom did you Purchase your Domains?

I'm looking to buy some domains that I may sell in the future, and I am wondering, for the domaineers around here, with whom do you normally purchase your domains to do so?

I've heard namecheap.com is pretty good. Thanks for any advice. :)

10 years ago - i would do the same today.

quality above all - the price of a domain is "peanuts" compared to a revenue potential anyway.
and I strictly separate registrar and host all the time

I like godaddy for the ease of transfer because I don't ever hold on to my domains.

I use GoDaddy mostly because it is most universally understood -- transfers are quick and easy, pricing is good and they have, over the years, been the registrar with the least surprises (which is a good thing). I have accounts and use NameCheap, Enom, Dotster, etc but only retain those accounts for domains I buy from others who originally register them there. I own several hundred domains but only keep a few at registrars outside of GoDaddy.

Interesting that you think GoDaddy's transfer process is easy. That's the one thing that keeps me from using GoDaddy more often.

I guess "easy" in the sense that so many people have GoDaddy accounts. But even then, you need so much more information about a GoDaddy user, as opposed to just knowing the user ID with some place like NameCheap. Unless maybe I'm doing something wrong and there's a way to transer at GoDaddy with just an ID. That would be nice. I feel funny having to ask people for all that info. I know, I can fill it in with fake info and let the buyer change it, but then I still have to fill it in.

I do transfers at GD with just an ID all the time. I never have to ask people for "all that info".

Guess I will need to look at it again. Every time I hit the account change button, it gives me a form to fill out with a bunch of required fields.

Godaddy is not user friendly. I like 1and1.com better.

    Thanks,

I use godaddy as most of my buyers has an account already with GoDaddy and it is just a simple push without any hassles.

Once again, I've tried to figure out how to do an account change at GoDaddy without having to fill in the name and address and everything else, and I'm unable to do so.

If someone would care to explain to me how this is done, I'd appreciate it. In the meantime, I need to go back and get this person's name, address, phone number, e-mail address, shoe size, and I think the last 4 digits of his mother's brother's sister's uncle's half cousin twice removed's Social Security number.
