with or without?

I am about to buy a domain name and both options are available....which one should i choose?

XXXX-XXXXX.org

or

XXXXXXXXX.org


(X demarks a letter)

 

From an SEO perspective, the first one.
From a user and conversion perspective, the second one, although it depends on the industry.

I try to stay away from Dashes although 1 may be acceptable in some industries

 

I'd get both and 301 one to the other. I'd probably use the hyphenated one as the public address that I'd promote.

 

I would buy both to be on the safe side, but promote using the one without a hyphen. Domains are fairly cheap nowadays anyway.

 

almost all my traffic is search engines.....nobody is really going to stay typing the url in.......so should I go for 1?

Personally i think 1 is easier to read........

 

If you go that route I would take dct's advice and buy both

 

Actually, the second one would work just as well in terms of SEO....

i would prefer to choose the second one to promote

 

I would find a catchy name and worry about more important items on the site
