Hello! I have planned to make a niche website with some articles and guides. I would like it to have a menu at the left side with categories, a header made by text, and at the end of the article, a related articles box. Witch CMS do you recomend for this? Thanks, Kalle
It is quite hard for me to find a good CMS among 20 of them, with no experience. Does any of you have experience with one CMS that you could recomend, it would be good if it had a simple layout. Another related question that I forgot: Witch one is most SEO friendly? Kalle
to be honest, you're best reading some reviews and trying demos. Which CMS is best for you (at least to start off with) will depend upon your skills, not only your needs. Joomla is quite simple (although not as SEO-friendly as drupal), although its admin interface is not the most user-friendly, but if you have little (or no) skills with managing a website, html/php/css/javascript then you may be better off finding a simpler CMS. Also, for your needs, Joomla is probably too much right now.
That's true, I couldn't stand Joomla. It was so difficult to truly customize. However, it would probably be fine for the OP.
That was my opinion about Joomla too, too much. Well, I will have to try some demos and read some reveiws. Thanks!
Hi kalle437, I have experience with sNews CMS and that's what I could recommend. It is very simple but powerful, it does have a simple layout, it is SEO friendly and is also template independent. It will easily satisfy all your needs and you will only need to mod it for it to have that related articles box you need. There is a mod on Solucija Forum that does something similar and would just have to be adjusted to show the result in a way you want it, meaning the most of the coding for the mod you need is done and if you don't have experience with PHP, ask for help at the Solucija forum where I'm sure somebody will help you - it might even be me if I manage to find some time these days...
