As most of the nation knows, Wisconsin has had a lot of protests and fallout from Governor Scott Walker's budget repair bill, a bill that is supposed to balance the state's budget, yet eliminates most public employees' collective bargaining rights. Months ago, when the bill was being debated, there were plenty of protests at the state capitol that received national coverage. The bill passed under controversial circumstances, and was later deemed valid by the state's Supreme Court, and has since become law. Today, recall elections are being held for some officials who were deeply involved in the protests, either by actively supporting the bill or being part of the "Wisconsin 14" - a group of state senators who fled to Illinois to avoid a quorum from being met for voting on the bill. Lines at the polls are expected to be long. I'm a Wisconsinite and a public employee. Personally, I'm divided on the issue. I understand that Walker is trying to balance the state budget, but I also think that this bill might be going a little bit too far. What does everyone think about this? You don't have to be a Wisconsinite, or even an American, to have an opinion on this issue.
Personally I wish all states and federal government would do something similar. If we don't have the money to buy something then don't buy it. If I can't afford to buy a car, I'm not going to buy it.
The outcome of the general election may well have national implications as the same for Minnesota - at least they are doing something in Wisconsin to show their dissatisfaction with even the newly elected officials and rightly so.
Aww cmon breeze.. Your read on the national pulse is a little suspect after you predicted the results of the midterms. Remember? The Dems were going to hold both houses? Ring a bell? See http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1955675#post15069114 Good thing you didn't take Wills offer to put money on it. Btw, plan on doing any more race baiting at the other place? There's a pool going on what day you'll violate the admins warning. Don't let me down.
I find earning a living as my preference - what ever you also were trying to bet on is of no concern of mine - as well the mid-terms did not capture the Senate for the Republicans and made reference to that point to your custodian. By the way your sagging pants have a prologue I notice you have not contributed to. I have broken no rules I am aware of on this forum, that I can not say the same for you and yours in plagiarism - being banned or the pretense of a meaningful reputation misused by political zealots within this forum is their business I have no control over.
