Wire Transfer to my Bank Account

Hello Guys,
One of my client sent me money by Wire Transfer to my HDFC Bank Account on 15th March 2010.

This is my first transaction through Wire Transfer so I don't know how much time it will take.

Can you guys help me to let me know that how much Time it will take to reached my money in my HDFC Bank Account??
Although it is a big money so I'm confused here.

should 3 working days, that is what one of the employee of HDFC bank told me.

Avoid wire transfers at all costs Snipers. Especially from foreign soil. There is a lot of stories circulating about payments that never came, and the excuses "payers" try to pawn off on you. Hopefully everything goes smoothly for you my man!

 

wires are most secure way of payment, they usually take a couple of days, i can happen also that wire transfer arrived same day, it all depend on the banks involved in the process

my client is from Europe and me from India. I heard that wire transfers also depend on country specific.

will it take about one week or more?

yes it depends on location and bank too.. it may take a week to arrive your money.

 

it also depends upon the number of intermediary banks. as far as my knowledge is concerned, all hdfc bank branches are swift code enabled, so it should take less time. but that is not the case for other banks so it takes longer. officially its 3 days.. the rest depend upon our banking system.

as u receive the funds, do update at the thread.

Finally I got my money today on 18th March 2010, 6: 28 PM (GMT 5:30) which was sent on 15th March 2010 from Europe.

I received my money in just 3 working days.

I think wire transfer is the safest payment process for big transactions.

Could you mention how much hdfc charged you and for what amount?

 

How big was ur transcation did bank ask for anything ??

 

My client sent me $3742 and I got $3692 to my bank account with a exchange rate of ( USD 1 = 44.81 INR ), means no much fees and good exchange rate. I'm happy with this transaction and think that it is the best alternate of paypal.
After receiving my money I checked my bank statement and saw that 90.25 INr was debited from my account by the bank.

The amount you can see in the thread, I have already mentioned.
Regarding the bank, although it was my first transaction so I was nervous but everything got cleared. My bank din't ask me anything yet.

I think, they will send you a copy of FIRC that they will send to RBI within 15 days..

 

it ll take 3 to 7 days. Just be patience and you ll get your money for sure
