Just recently installed windows 7 on to my son's desktop and I have to admit that windows Xp is far more smoother ,For some reason windows 7 seems slower, Good thing I now have both disc... but I don't think I will be upgrading any time soon to windows 7 ..Xp is best and after this its all MAC from there on end.
I use W7 on my laptop with 3GB of RAM, it's really fast. I use it for surf and communication only, not for work, game etc
I'm using Windows 7 at the moment. It has definitely taken some getting used to. However, I have never really noticed it being slow at all.
Me and my dad both use to use windows until we finally were able to make the transition to a good Linux OS and neither of us have ever wanted to go back. Linux is so much better then windows, you just need to learn how to use it which is what puts most people off at first but if you persevere then you'll find out how much easier and more flexible it really is
Windows 7 just makes everything prettier in my opinion. If your using your computer strictly for business, I'd stick with xp.
XP is the premier microsoft product. My backup laptop had windows 7 and I hated it too. Added XP as fast as possible now life is good again.
I love my W7. Bought a new laptop with it preinstalled. 4GB ram, nice dual core AMD turion processor, good graphics card. The interface is sleek and sexy, runs fast for me. I love it.
They need to work little more on Windows 7. XP is standard and it is little outdated, but you can run any P3 with it.
In my opinion windows 7 is good piece of work not having any problems with my system its working well.
well well well Stop cursing Windows 7 operating system because of its compatibility issue. If you guys have read the article about virtual xp mode in windows 7 then you would definitely love to start using the operating system. With virtual xp mode in windows 7 you can have all the features of Windows XP operating system, The main problem that comes here is the amount of RAM needed for the virtualization is more. If you have 2GB of RAM then no problem you can run virtual xp mode in windows 7 without lag. For the virtualization to be setup on the windows 7 you have to install two files - one which is of windows xp and other one is setting up virtualization environment. The complete process is described here - http://techhertz.blogspot.com/2010/02/windows-xp-virtual-mode-in-windows-7.html Any question and comments will be appreciated.
Window 7 has an added advantage over xp/vista in that it has incorporated most of the drivers in the setup process and once it's completed you don't need to install these drivers like chipset, sound, graphic. W7 still has not perfected this process yet. There are instances where you'll still need to install the missing driver usually sound device drivers. It's trying to copycat linux os such as puppy linux where all drivers are automatically detected and loaded upon boot up. Comparatively, linux still supercede windows as a powerful OS. Most machine vendors don't provide drivers for XP nowadays, so you'll be having a tough time searching for the correct device drivers should you still want to install XP on newer machines. For those familiar with XP would be confused by the W7 UI but after using it a couple of days, you should be familar with it. My daughter is using W7, so far no complaints from her. It must be a good upgrade as compare to Vista.
I used winXP for a long time ,but never use Vista ,now using windows 7 Ultimate .It is super fast great 100% efficient OS .When comparing with XP Win 7 is best ...
