Almost all applications have been rebuilt to work with win vista . The only problem is that we need more RAM to run this OS .
I said this thread was the RESULT OF (the bad reputation Vista has received, transpired onto Windows 7), not what the thread/posted link is about. Are you done? I did read, and I am not clueless. This is a community forum, you don't have to reply to every post, saying "clueless" or "get a clue" or "another person who hasn't a clue". Clue, clue, clue! I do agree with you though, that some people do not even bother to read anything, and I can understand it being frustrating! I still say it's too early for anyone (even PCWorld) to determine the outcome of what could be an excellent OS. Any objections?
i personally can't wait for win7. it looks really clean, and it's supposed to be as light weight as XP.
Yes. PCWorld has a copy of Windows7 that Microsoft gave them, and others, as a show of what Windows7 is, but you say you can't use that as an example of what Windows7 is. Then what is Microsofts point in doing that if it is not an example of what Windows7 is? If Ford wants to introduce a new car line, they don't put a new body on a Ford Explorer and give it to magazines to test drive as the new car line but say "Oh, you can't go by that cause we're not done with it.". Recently, Steve Ballmer has already stated that Windows7 IS Vista.
Do you think, even after the review, microsoft will keep the product as it is and release it to the world. How will they fix it and how much time they require, leave it to Microsoft.
Well, it's a good thing you have "enough clue" for all of us. Retarded fanboy comments like this keeps me further away from the crappy open source software out there.
Windows XP SP2 is still the best solution I've tried Vista which result to lower productivity due to incompatibilities and a number of issues Windows 7 will make things worse
I was dual booting XP SP3 and Windows 7 till yesterday... And Windows 7, even though it's a pre-beta or alpha version, it was running really good, without a single crash. Now this is not much, but keep in mind that it's a pre-beta OS, so the final version will be even better, even though this one is good already as it is. Also, it's really compatible with Vista applications, as I installed a few of them and they run as they should, even EasyBCD, the vista bootloader works on Windows 7.
XP SP3 so far so good, dual running with Vista 32Bit. Now testing out the Window 7, it really look similar to Vista, but feature-wise. For vista, if i want to use some old application which runs on XP, all I need to do is, changing the application to run compatibility back to XP and also run as administrator. So far Vista not a problem yet but drivers for some hardware can't be used. Same goes to Window 7, some drivers aren't ready yet.
The study was about the internals of Windows7 and that, pretty much, must be final. The only thing they may have time to work on is the bells/whistles and add-on apps.
Funny how you call me a 'retarded fanboy' yet I did not write the article, I did not make the quoted comment, yet the best you can do is call the messenger names rather than read and understand the article. What open source has to do with anything in this thread is beyond me.
I guess I'm alone when I say that Vista Ultimate is the best thing MS has created in a long time, aside from a few annoyances.
You guys are misinformed, with the looks of the screenshots, how could Windows 7 go wrong? Check them out: Windows7.in
If pretty pictures are your definition of a good OS then you'll love this and this. But if you must run Windows, there's always this.
I think it's way to early to tell how good it will be. I think i'll stick with XP for a long while, but Windows 7 could turn some heads.
I would give the url to all of you, but I don't know if it's okay with the rules here to post links to file sharing websites?
