I'm not looking forward to win 7 at all.. the fat taskbar is really ugly, plus I have yet to see new feature or any other reason to upgrade from vista.
I really don't think microsoft will be so stupid to repeat the mistakes done in vista, i hope for the best and yes looking forward to windows 7 as well.
So here's a guy who has it in his hands and tested it with all kinds of tools but YOU don't think Microsoft would be that stupid and you're looking forward to it? That just amazes me.
Windows vista is the best OS ever...but no-one recognize this. I have been using Vista, Mac and Ubuntu for 3 years and I do have experience.. I know the security settings of vista is annonying but its upto you , you can customize that suite your needs.
Windows vista hasn't crashed on me once. XP was blue screen every 2 or 3 days... I think they have to learn from their mistakes.
Vista crashed on me 183 times this year. XP crashed on me just once this year. Can't see them learning much
You can't say that windows 7 is Vista just worse. The current Windows 7 is, read carefully: A PRE-BETA. Damn I'm tired of those saying "Windows 7 looks exactly like Vista, **** *** ***** ** ** *". PLEASE! Interface changes will come later, but the speed and reliability in the latest Win7 milestone has been improved, up to 50% lower ram usage than Vista. It can even run on Eee PC's (netbooks). I'm really looking forward to this, I LOVE the new Superbar (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9p_eBgdkGk) it's damn beautiful. I've been running Vista since it's release, and I haven't got a SINGLE crash yet. It runs even faster than my XP partition on same PC. The crashes are your own fault, not Window's. You can easily crash Mac OS X too. Apple make use of, that Microsoft had a better product in the past, so more users used Windows rather than Mac OS - More users, more virussess. I guess, that if Apple have had a better product in the past, and had got more users, they would have the same reputation that Microsoft has these days. I'll say: Wait and see when Windows 7 is released. Things will change.
Consider this point: If there were no Microsoft Windows, right now only 13% people would have been using the computer. Its the great innovations and development potential of Microsoft.
I'll stick to OSX personally, but I hope Windows 7 does turn out decent as I still require my PC for some applications.
That is the beta version they are holding, a very early stage to even come out with results. I hope you understand that.
Vista is great but for people who dabble in things like music and video production, it can be a pain. I had to revert from Vista back to XP.
Well.. I use Vista for music production, programming and graphics. Works perfect. In Traktor (a DJ application to work together with my VCI-100 controller), I have lower latency with my ESI Maya 44 soundcard than with XP
