Hello there, I will tell you from first hand experience, all of my systems have been converted to Windows 7. I am not just saying it to say because I am affiliated with Microsoft. I can truly stand behind this product and tell you straight away it works very reliably, fast and extremely stable. The 64bit version is a real powerhouse as well. Anyways, what to say about Windows 7? There are several new features that are available with Windows 7 that will assist you with deployment and management of a large number of workstations. Enterprise IT infrastructures are increasingly complex to manage. The Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP) is a dynamic desktop solution that is available as a subscription for Software Assurance customers. The solution suite enhances application deployment and compatibility, increases IT responsiveness and end user uptime, and helps reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) of your desktop software and IT management. It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to also check the threads available there for additional assistance and feedback. XP is reliable right now and I can't see changing when it isn't broken. 7 looks good on the advertisements but until it is the default system (when I buy my next computer or go with MAC) I'll stick with something that works right now.
I still love my windows XP. it's so much hassle to port my current programs and documents now.... >,<
I'm using Win XP and Win 7. I use XP for my netbook and Win 7 for my PC. honestly, I don't like windows. I have to using them because my program (metatrader) is only compatible with windows.
I have always been one of those who 'put up' with Windows and swore I would never leave XP as it was the first reasonably stable but my old box was getting slow etc. I had even purchased 2 copies of XP to keep me going. The guy who built this box led me kicking and screaming to W7 because of ability to see extra ram. New box is W7 primary with 4 of the 8 gig of ram assigned; VMWare with the other 4 gig assigned with a clone of my old box, a fresh XP install and Ubuntu virtual machines. I love the flexibility this gives me. Am feeling so good about 7 I even moved away from windows classic view. I love ram - my old 1 gig took 20-30 seconds for initial photoshop load - is now under 4
Windows Vista is the worst thing possible lol. I really like XP (second to linux) for development purposes, but 7 is great. I use 7 on my personal every day life computer lol
