Ok I see where you got the whole 'crappy computers make people hate vista' thing now. You can't say vista sucks just because it uses more resources . Thats like saying a 777 aircraft sucks because it needs another engine.
ja if pcs functions just for "typing" newer OS is not necessary.... my aunt said her office just upgrade their pcs with vista n most of the staff only work with microsoft office words, excel, etc lol well i think microsoft have a good marketing division............. for myself..... i will upgrade to vista, if gaming industry start to use vista as their main gaming platfrom....
you must have a really crappy processor. My Vista Home Premium with FireFox, Smart FTP, Napster and Open Office is around 8%
First of all, MS has still give support for XP. Its just to popular. Secondly, Dell recommends Windows Vista Home Premium, however, but you can get XP. Inspiron Desktop with Windows XP Inspiron Laptops with Windows XP Since Dell is selling XP, then I don't see how MS can stop support.
I think that the Official release date of the Service Packs are this: Windows Vista SP1: 18 February (already available in warez networks, aks me for it if you want). Windows XP SP3: 23 March, probably before.
The Xp should not be retired becoz its best OS to supports the common PC which dont have high config parts even though im using 2 GB RAM, 256MB grfics card & C2D but vista required more config to play crysis, GOW thats y even though im using vista i install XP specially for gaming purpose.
I have been running Vista on my Desktop and Laptop for over a year now. I must say it has grown on me... There were some compatibility issues when I first got Vista, but since then i've loved it.
OS X and Ubuntu are two good alternatives but you've got to have some sort of virtualization software to run XP. You've got to be able to run your old programs etc..
Well if standards didn't change to having better computers why would people work on advancing technology? By the way, those games are just to intense for your computer in general, has nothing to do with vista. ESPECIALLY crysis.
MS is aware of the negative feedback from Vista. The rationale behind this move is difficult to understand. Force everyone to adapt to Vista ? There is still very little viable competition as far as OS are concerned. Anyone tried Leopard?
SP3 for XP is the last of the updates? i think microsoft is going to still provide security patches and such right?
