XP for the win, and about the whole vista looks better thing, lol you can get third party apps to solve that problem...like WindowsBlinds By stardock
if vista was free I would try it, but since it is not it will have to wait till i can afford it till them i am using LINUX & XP
Vista is great but for me Windows XP is much easier to used and user friendly. At the same time the spec isnt that high compared to Vista.
If 1GB RAM go for XP Pro, If 2GB of RAM go for XP Pro , then install Ubuntu Linux 7.10 on a separate partition
Vista has an interesting interface. Eye candy as someone mentioned. I was going to purchase a copy on Ebay -quite inexpensive- but then decided why bother? XP is serving me quite well. All my resource intensive applications such as Flash8 and Fireworks run like lightning. When I purchase my next laptop, It will of course have vista preloaded. I'll wait until then to experience the wonders of Vista. As for security and spyware? I am sure Vista has as many -Microsoft friendly-back doors as XP Will their ever be an operating system to rival windows? I would abandon MS in a heartbeat. Greedy wankers. -C.
Not true, get it with Ubuntu or FreeDos http://www.dell.com/open Then once you've reaped the savings of not paying for Windows, download a good Linux distro, like Sabayon Linux... And Acer offers their stuff with Linux in Asia I believe... Oh and I use Windows XP still, with Sabayon thrown in usually.
I prefer Windos Vista Ultimate. If you have a good PC/ Laptop then you have no worries about vista not working. Vista is incredible. I can not even think about going back to Windows Xp old interface. Just my .2 Cents
Anyone who has anything to say about Vista who hasn't used it really has no basis to judge an opinion on. That said, Zac Garrett explains where Vista stands well in this article: http://zacgarrett.com/2007/09/28/Where-does-Vista-Stand-Today/
