Windows XP Service Pack 3

Well, I was talking about the version available since more than one year. This is the upcoming version. But the OS available to download one year back & claimed to be a SP3 was fake & edited by some programmers. This version is not yet in the market.

 

I have tried the Unofficial SP3 and it worked fine. But still I reverted back waiting for the official release which may come by end of 2007 or 2008 start.

 

What was different in SP3 nav?

 

Strangely, could find nothing different. Nothing. It was same as working in SP2 except for About Screen which mentions newer version of Windows.

 

You have not got SP5 yet for XP?????

Any official press release from Microsoft on this issue??

 

SP3 has been floating around for months. It's very real.

 

I know that SP3 will come out in 08 but I don't think that its going to be in public testing for a while.

 

I'm not surprised really. I don't know of much else they could of made better save security and looks. security does not require a new SP, and looks can be changed without a SP as well.

Not sure what the point to a new SP would be.

That's the overview documentation of SP3. Has it officially been released by Microsoft?

Looks like all that's out right now is RC1, final version on the way "Soonâ„¢".

 

Yes its rc1, but I'm told that some people have had a >10% performance improvement in certain areas. That's not give microsoft any free press, I'm currently using ubuntu linux mostly and couldn't be happier
