When ever i am restoring windows to an earlier date, after restart and all that it says "Incomplete and no changes were made".

I have installed norton 2011 antivirus and it did not detected any virus so far.

If you know why it is happening please tell.

    Thanks a lot.

Windows XP restore doesn't always work and I'm sorry I can't be of any help with this but I thought I should tell you to backup using a ghost to avoid any troubles in future.

I guess DP would have some XP gurus to help you out.

+1. Window's System Restore is dodgy.
I have various images of my system drives, in various states, e.g 1.) Clean install 2.) Clean install with drivers loaded 3.) All applications installed etc..

Macrium Reflect FREE edition is brilliant:

Try to reboot in Safe Mode and restore from there, if you haven't tried that already.

Did you installed deep-freeze? Unfreeze it first and try again.

maybe before you restore it, you have to turn off your restore point..
