I bought an old PC at a garage sale, and when I got it home, it is running XP with 2 admin accounts that are password protected. I went back to the house to find that they were there doing a garage sale, everything else is at the curb for garbage, and the house is vacant . What I want to do is get the password. There is one guest limited account if that helps. Thanks in advanced. Also, anyone have some extra mice and keyboard for the 2 that I bought there
all that you can do is to bypass this account by creating another account just log windows in "safe mod" then "control panel" then "user account" and create one good luck
Not sure if this will work...but worth a try. Start computer up in safe mode with command prompt, log in as administrator and try changing the password via the net use command. I have changed passwords using this command before, but not under the circumstances you are in. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/149427
Many people will meet pc locked in Windows XP. Last time I bought a second-hand pc. When I open it but it ask me password to login. Of course I didn't know. So to unlock the pc I searched many ways and compared them. But at last I focused on Anmosoft Windows Password Reset, which only 5 minutes to unlock and more details from http://www.resetwindowspassword.com
