If your machine is 64 bit then I would say that the 64 bit version of vista runs like a dream on it. On non 64 bit machines, and machines with less than 2GB ram I've found that you need to turn off all the fancy stuff in the aero interface to make it run decently. Personally, I'd say unless you need DirectX 10 for any reason, stick with XP for now. Vista is nice, but it has a lot of irritating quirks, and there's a lot of software that still has problems running under Vista without workarounds.
iv used both and i like XP, im more of an advanced user so anyone whose very novice switching over to XP is not easy i guess...but yeah both are nice vista is better looking but its killer on performace and u need a hi spec pc...
Right now, I prefer XP. Once all the bugs are fixed on Vista though, I'd probably choose that over the XP.
I play quite a few games, and generally find XP a lot easier to use (The annoying Vista warnings every 5 seconds will make you kill yourself )
Microsoft is just so weird, they cant seem to have human touch on their products, I think google will take over their empire in 10 years, Vista is weird, too
I have got Vista and it runs the same as XP and has better security. All you need is a good PC. If you have a shit PC Vista will Run Shit its simple. Ryan
vista rocks after using them for more than 6 months now and payinf $400 for the ultimate package i could never return to xp xp are so pro historic
I don't think I'd ever be able to make the transition back to XP either -- I just love the Vista interface.
I tried vista. Removed it the same day and went back to xp pro, hehe. Nice to look at but a little to early I think. None of my cool programs worked with vista, really pissed me off, hehe.
I am building a new computer. Gladly my dads company has the best vista edition. The one thats like $400, and I get MS office. Will be installing those on my new computer. Vista rocks if your computer can handle it, but my little brothers laptop is VERY laggy with it. I think we will get him some more memory XD.
In Vista, there has been improving of the distribution of processes and threads. There was added the protection of the "hang" and there was a lot of functions related to virtualization. It supports Call of Duty 2, Far Cry, F.E.A.R. and a host of software programs.
XP are the best for me I had Vista and I deleted them the only thing that I could have with them was a lot of errors
I agree with you. XP Pro runs faster and has less errors than Vista. And Vista also uses three times more memory just to start all services... it's very annoying. Not everyone can afford buying a new fast PC just to run Vista on it.
