I hate how Vista doesn't have any Powertoys even though they've had many months to get some out. Other than that, if you go to performance and shut everything off, Vistra screams. It took me about 2 days and 30 setting changes, but I can say it's very possible to get Vista running better than XP in almost everything.
Thanks for your well thought out and explained opinion. I'm sure you've based this off of months of experience with Windows Vista, but just forgot to tell us.
vista works fine but i've encountered lots of software compatibility issues. runs smoothly on my Core2Duo E6600 and 4gb ddr...
Vista has many cool features on it, but most of them you can install as addons on your WinXP..Also, Vista uses a lot of resources. However, in order to play future games using DX10 you will have to install Vista becuase DX10 isn't supported by WinXP.
All i like in vista is the cool Aero theme. Other then that i hate the way it runs and closes programs ... how it allocates memories to programs. Its framework sucks. I loved how xp's framework was designed. Any how thats just my thought.
I have little experience with Vista. But I got huge exp with XP -- amazing software: user-friendly and stable. See no reason to shell out yet another $100+ for Vista.
I didnt use Vista but once I try the XP , it dont have a capabilities just like other OS. But I heard that Windows XP is the premier OS for digital media--music, photos, and video--and Plus! XP expands on the capabilities found in the base OS . I love Vista. I have a great machine, and the aero feature is addicting. I couldn't live without it. Personally, you'll have to upgrade sooner or later whether it be for games or for any support in general. Count me as a vote for Vista being great.
I've been using XP professional for years, and am happy with it. Vista - tried it on my other laptop, too many fancy stuff, not my cup of tea.
Vista Sux For Me Because my pc is not that speed and my work need me to use photoshop and illustrator and some other programs but all of this when i work using vista i will get pc slow and i cant complete the work fast it will take 2x more time
Any New OS, I think you should wait 3-6 months before Upgrading/Installing to your PC, because by this time you will know all the advantages & disadvantages of it, as well It will be 70-80% patched for the problems found
i experienced a problem with vista. when i'm using this OS, i can't install my sound driver on an Intel motherboard. but with XP, it's fine!
