We are finding that most of our customers want XP, rather than Vista - and they reckon Windows 7 will be the one they end up migrating to, as Vista has burned too many people with its initial problems.

I still get some people coming in to us to have XP installed on a Vista PC, although you have to be careful now - the drivers are not always as freely available for XP on new PC's.

    the thing is
    with vistas security
they want to ditch XP to get rid of some legacy viruses / spyware, and the price to pay for tighter security is 8 year old programs not working
people need to learn how to mvoe on and find alternatives

if people name what software doesn't / didn't work with vista when they tried it, PM me or post in this thread
and I'll find you an alternative or show you how to get it working

Oh, and the RAM issue thing
it isn't really an easy thing to fix, but let's just say the ram is being put to good use
the problem is that they haven't perfected letting the RAM go free from superfetch
    so yeah :)

just disable unnecessary services, disable the sidebar, do regular registry cleaning up and use crap cleaner to delete things like apples quicktime task thing (qttask) from starting up everytime the PC is switched on
