funny u know , a piece of shit is much much more than enough for ubuntu, past has been past so don't talk about whatever u know about windows in the past, just let me know is there any OS out there to be comparable with Win 7 ? Win 7 insane price ? if u don't know anything just don't comment PLZ, 30 pounds for a windows 7 which more than 4000 developers and engineers worked on it is insane price, as I know Win 7 is most secure and stable OS right now furthermore , I even cant count that ubuntu as a OS, if u say OS everyone should be able to use that it means everyone from a 5 years old girl to a 90 years old woman, now just think if it is possible for a 5 years old girl to use that piece of shit ?
Well.. for a start, neither one of them will have money to buy a windows license or a proper windows antivirus. Ubuntu doesn't need an antivirus, it's free and will provide the things that both a 5 or 90 old person would likely use.
Money ? are u fooling urself man ? What do u think Windows 7 does need ? the answer is NO , we are talking about win7 provide things for them ? what ? just tell me one of them, which one of that ppl can use it without any knowloedge about linux or ubunto
Hmm. When Hollywood wants to do that, they use *nix and Macs. No. You focused on what you threw your money at. Those apps have alternatives on *nix.
Yes. Anything else. Give you two examples: 1) I can run any graphical application I have on any of my *nix computers on any of my *nix computers from anywhere in the world. Securely, for free and without installing anything. Just last week, I needed Gimp to run on my new FreeBSD notebook and had forgotten to install it. I could, and have, done the same with OpenOffice. 2) I finished working on a web app that will retrieve a web page, digitize it, rotate/transform it, give it a drop shadow background and attach it to a published web page. On the fly, for free, using standard programs, in less than 50 lines of code.
Well yeah, Windows has the most compatible applications and programs for people to use. But Ubuntu is making progress And many people are working hard on that. And the main thing WRONG with Windows ( the whole operating system ) is the protection! It's too easy to create viruses, that brake even the most secure Antiviruses. Ubuntu is VIRUSFREE! Even with only that ( it has a lot more here to say ) i would STILL choose Ubuntu instead of Windows ( maybe i will try a little harder to find appz, but at least i will be SECURE )
I have used both Windows and Ubuntu. Ubuntu is good, however, I prefer Office XP or Vista over Open Office.
instead of thorwing out silly things from ur mouth and keep saying UBUNTU IS GOOD, just tell me one fucking feature in that Ubuntu which a 5 year old girl can use that for 10000000000 times we are talking about win7 not windows, win7 the most secure OS, and put this in ur head that it doesn't need antivirus
If it's on a web server, Ubuntu. If it's on my PC, Windows. But, I do run an Ubuntu VM inside windows so I can code. I've become too used to gEdit to move back to Windows without it. Wine isn't stable. I doubt it will ever be. I do like VirtualBox though. You still need a copy of Windows. But, if you have it, you can just run Windows inside Ubuntu, and then run your must-have-apps inside the Windows Virtual Machine. You may want to give that a shot if you last tried doing that through Wine. I've tried every Linux distro under the sun, and Ubuntu trumps them all for my servers and my desktop. Debian was great, but they didn't update their software repos and distro releases often enough.
plain and simply in my opinion Windows 7 is the way to go, i love it better than any os that i have used.
That's the first I've ever heard that. Never heard that before either about servers. Another thing I've never heard before.
ok if your new to linux just get ubuntu because of the easy learning curve! windows is great for gaming but linux is great for a workstation so if you do not game much it wont hurt running the live cd and checking it out atleast and wine is stable but a lot of full featured windows apps do not work with it
