I prefer Linux to be honest But out of the windows line, I would say Windows 7. Windows Vista sucked. It was an absolute mistake that Microsoft should have aborted before it even started.
At the time of publication, the three latest entries in Microsoft's Windows series of operating systems are Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. They were released in 2001, 2007 and 2009 respectively. With each successive operating system, Microsoft has added features to its Windows product.
I had to use linux when my computer crashed two years ago. I just used it to get back up and running. I keep saying I am going to do dual boots with win7 and linux, but never got around to it.
I used Vista from 4 year and i am happy with their performance but window 7 definitely better than this because of its higher version.
Windows 7 is still the best Ms innovation. Possibly you can run it in 512Mb ram. But AERO interface will not work very well and system will be very slow.
I feel Vista eats more Ram than Win 7. Furthermore if you notice, unplugging your thumb drive in Win 7 is much faster than Win Vista.
No argument there. Win7 is much better than vista, and memory is so cheap now so it's easy to upgrade and get faster response. I been using 4gigs for a couple years now.
Vista - is the most horrible OS's I have too. I've installed 64-bit beta Win 7 version on my old 512 ram computer (where Vista also was once) and to my surprise it worked much better then vista there. I'd say that win 7 is the best among windows platforms.
Windows Vista has been called transient operating system that was supposed to prepare the world for the transition from Windows XP to the new faster more flexible system such as Windows 7 At today's price of the hardware on which you can run windows 7 windows 7 is the clear leader.
