    Windows XP now has an annoying popup that comes up with unregistered software.

    Honestly, how long before there is a work-around or a crack? The piracy prevention measures are nothing more then a speed bump. Hell, teams of people will get together to see who can stick it to Microsoft first.

    Vista is going to blow a big one if their RC releases are close to the finale product. Most people are going to be pissed when they find out that up-grading their OS also includes up-grading their hardware as well.

    Just buy it already if you plan to use it. It's ironic to see people whining when content from their site is stolen & bashing anti-piracy measures.

    I think MS should just release a free OS with Ads by Goooooooooooogle on the bottom of everyone's desktop. MS could even implement an Adsense revenue sharing program like we have here at DP!!!

    This is going to do nothing to stop the regular pirates. They'll just laugh and find a workaround within a week. But it will piss off the average user who will have to deal with an even more aggressive copy protection system. Vista sales are going to tank, and then instead of improving vista or lowering the price Microsoft will come up with some scheme to force it down our throats.

    Something tells me Apple is going to receive another windfall. I'm no fan of the Mac, but if vista sucks as much as I fear it will; I may have no choice.

    Um, heard of a crack. yes I know of the so called anti pirate message but there is a crack out for it.

    it removes the popups and allows you to use windows update again.

    LMFAO.. tht is actually some good advice.

    Every pirated windoze copy has ads by adcentre at the bottom, the revenues from it would anyday exceed the price of the copy.

    I wonder y Billy doesnt land up here at DP.. i mean there are lot of gr8 ideas down here which a harvard holder might not think of.

    hmmm, to each his own I guess :)

    I thought just the opposite, that the interface was crap but then again I've been using Opera & FF for a long time now.

    I have to bring a point up. You can NEVER make people happy. People wanted a better Windows with more up-to-date UI, DVD, Media Center stuff, better security, better platform but all that requires decent hardware now people are complaining about it requiring a modern machine. These kind of people make no sense at all. What do you want? Make your mind up lol.

    Only 1 of my machines can run Vista out of 3 machines but I don't mind spending cash for new high-end machines. Anyone on DP should be able to afford that with all the good YPN revs they make hehe.

    Give me 5 million dollars and i can build operating system (open source) which will blow Microsoft's fat a@s. I was browsing sourceforge the other day and it completely surprised how advance these softwares are.

    There are two only problems with open source;

    1. No body cares about marketing
    2. Absolutely unmanaged (ofcourse with few exceptions)
