Windows VISTA Service Pack 1 in 2007 yet ??? :)

    Hi,

    Anyone know when the Service Pack 1 for Vista will be available?

    I heard that VISTA-SP1 will be in 2007 ;) Who know...? :)

    "Windows Vista SP1 to help us prepare for its release in the second half of CY07 (calendar year 2007)." - that is the vague company line at least. I doubt we will see SP1 before Summer 2008.

    I have seen they have already released beta of SP1 for vista...
    Hope i am not wrong :)

    you're right, i saw that too, there was an announcement on a few podcasts, but I wouldn't install it unless you wanted to help send bug reports to Micro$oft. Probably early next year, January?

    I am actually hoping that the service pack for vista will be released this December. Gives me a reason to finally upgrade my hardware.

    I believe it's going to be released in the following months, most likely to be released in the early 2008.

    Less of a memory hog? I doubt it. There is talk of such, though. As I said before..you can have it. I'm keeping XP until they force me to upgrade.

    The Vista SP1 release is dependent on how many bug fixes, severity of bugs, etc. That doesn't mean we won't see it before 2008 though. They have a couple of months before the year ends so that should be sufficient time to get a release out.
