i'm soo excited to test this out.. except i don't have time for it.. the beta 2 sucked, but i'll see how it goes
The criteria would be high speed internet access, newsgroups and a reader such as xnews or any one of the 100s of others that are out there. tada...!
I have tried it and was not very impressed. People are going to be very upset with the performance of vista if they do not have a high end system. As of now, just like the 64 bit version of XP, some components such as sound do not work. it is at RC2 now, so lets hope the bugs get worked out but I may go all out Linux or stick with XP. I know Ubuntu is going to be installed over my vista RC1 instillation tomorrow.
I haven't tried Windows Vista Release Candidate 1 yet, but the beta 2 or 3 (can't remember0 was soo slow on my 1.73 centrino with 512mb
I would highly recommemend atleast 1gb of ram to run Vista. Microsoft publishes bare minimum requirements to get Vista installed/running. My system should get replaced soon because it is kinda slow with RC1 but I have 3 Visual Studio 2005 windows open, Photoshop, IM, 8 IE7 Tabs, etc. and it is kinda slow for me.
How in the world can anyone be running on 512mb ram these days o_0 That's like the bare suggested requirements. I mean, I know teh prices of memory have gone up the past month, but serioulsy.... 512mb...
HAHA I still have a 486 with 16mbs or ram ....man those were the days. My computer now though has 4gb. That's only because my accountant told me I needed more business write offs so I just modded my pc like crazy.
I tested on my different laptop.. the laptop I use everyday has 2gb pc-4200, so don't think I live in uncivilized area
MS Sucks.. they said they have shiped my copy of Vista (Pre-Release Editoin) 3-4 weeks ago.. din't get it till date
