Windows Vista continuos loading bar on boot

    Hi,

    I'm having issues with my sisters laptop, she always downloads dodgy files and I end up having to fix it...

    This time on startup the startup will get to the vista loading bar and then just sit there loading continuously.

    The only way to get into the computer is to F8 and boot into safe mode, after this I have tried disabling all startup programs but this has no effect and the laptop will still recieve the same problems.

    What else can I try without having to format or reinstall the operating system?

    I'll have a look at the error logs and see if that can shed any light on the situation.

    In the meantime if you have any ideas please feel free to post these! Thanks

    Try to use System Restore to roll back to earlier date when the problem doesn't happen yet.

    Well I tried system restore but it sat there for over 2 hours and froze, this is really puzzling.
