Windows Servers or Linux Servers?

Hi everyone, I saw that the MAC OS X and Vista thread had something related to this and that there wasn't a thread dedicated to windows or linux servers - so I thought I'd start one. I was wondering if you use a Windows server, as I have only used linux before, so I'd like to see what you guys think on this subject....

    I wouldn't use a windows server
why pay for something that you can get for free?

tbh, I'd use linux for my desktop if windows wasn't so easy to pirate

Most Windows desktop apps have their Linux equivalent. In addition, if you are using your desktop for network related tasks, you have a far greater range of tools at your fingertips than you would on a 'doze box.
