Hi, My questions are related to RDS Cals. Before I tell my question, let me explain in short what I did so far. I have a Dedicated Server with Windows Server 2012 Standard R2 Edition. I want to rent this server to say 15 users. (RDP accounts) I have installed RD Session Host, RD Licensing and RD Web Access Roles. I have activated the server from RD Licensing Manager too. Then I created 10 user accounts and I noticed I can login and work without any problem. So here are my questions. 01. What is the point of installing CALs? 02. Do I need to install CALs to rent my server to 15 users? 03. Are there any limitation imposed on the server because I have not installed CALs? 04. Will Remote Desktop Services stop working after certain period of days because I have not installed CALs? Thanks
Yes, Remote desktop session expired with the duration mentioned per policy by Windows Edition RD settings from My Computer Properties, therefore there are more many things which you have control in your hand thats why CLA is good for you as you are having huge and professional server windows
