Microsoft will release the new Windows Phone 7 smart phone operating system (OS) in a bid to provide a formidable challenge to other smart phone operating systems from Nokia, Google and Apple. The new Window Phone 7 smart phone is to launch today in UK and early November 2010 in America. It will be available on nine phones, and with 60 operators in 30 countries.

The new Windows Phone 7 smart phone OS is now rebuilt from bottom up and it is now more user friendly than before.

Windows Phone 7 smart phone is going to face lot of good competitor when it enter market, with the like of iPhone 4, Google Android and other doing very well in the market. But I believe Windows Phone 7 is going to do well in the market as well, because there is lots of Microsoft and Window lover out there, who are waiting for the phone in the market.

I think there will be lots of fun with wp7, because microsoft was released a tool for game programming called XNA, it's free to all the programmers, easy and fast to build a game, and the game can be run under windows, wp7, xbox, and zune, so there gonna be lots of new games publishing after wp7 launched...

From the videos and pictures I've seen, the OS looks so basic and dull. I like the iPhone and Android icons that are present on the main page of those phones, plus the interfaces are top notch. I don't see Windows as a main player in the market. You'll get a few Microsoft junkies that will love it of course but I feel Samsung and Palm have better OS' than Windows. I see them in 5 or 6th in line as compared to others.

This is Microsoft's last chance to make a mark in the phone business but already they've failed. No one cares and they're trying to make Windows work on a phone. That won't happen and articles are already being written that Windows just doesn't work well with a touchscreen.

Windows Phone 7 has one of the most innovative interfaces ever. It was one of my gripes with Android, which simply copied iPhone's interface.

There is a Nov 12 article at PC World that points out that Win Phone 7 security is the worst out there and that most users won't be able to connect to corporate networks because it can't meet minimum security policy requirements. It goes on to point out that editing Office docs is totally lame. For example, you can't copy & paste.

Looks like M$ has some work to do.

    Article is here: http://www.pcworld.com/article/210522/windows_phone_7_microsofts_disaster.html
