linux have a rock solid stability that fit for servers. i have many linux servers that only down when we have electrical problem, or add another new hardware. windows have ease of use for home users. most software's are created only for windows. there are wine and emulators available to run windows under linux, but that not the solution, because the performance will be drop. but in the end, if up to you. ubuntu it's good, cathing up with windows. but still, in my humble personal opinion, that windows still more easy to use then ubuntu (my latest ubuntu is 7.10) but you may think differently. fell free to install linux or windows in your computers, server of home pc, it's your choice.
