Microsoft has started to focus more and more on mobile devices. This is the reason for it being better and increasing in popularity.

well personally i have used both the platforms
& i feel that symbian is much better than windows mobile O.S
one of the reasons behind it is that people get pissed off using same O.S on PC & then again on Their Handhelds . So for a different yet effective GUI with lot of apps to use symbian is the way to go

I would have to say (at the moment), Symbian. Especially on the Sony Ericsson P1i.

It looks very similar to the microsoft offering but has some great features like an opera web browser which increases your chances of being able to load a site and it's addons (MS IE Mobile isn't great!).

MS Windows Mobile just can't compare to the real thing, and things you expect to work just don't. It's a shame but the main drawback seems to be due to the 16 bit achitecture!

I have to agree with you on Mobile IE.

But then again, you can get Opera Mobile for your smartphone.

I don't know about Symbian, but I hate windows mobile. Slow and crashes, at least for me. I can't wait until Android comes out.

Windows Mobile has evolved into a lovable software minus the browser of course which is still crap. Hope they fix it in Window's 7. Which will definitely moving past Symbian and challenging the iPhone and Android.

android will be good, but for now there's no competition, windows mobile is the only choice, just get opera with it...

    Bot are great, but:

    WM has more apps
WM has better SDK (.NET) and it's easier to develop for.

    again symbian rocks..

Any WM phone worth its salt comes nearby to N95?? Don't compare xperia or touch diamond. Wait for symbian's answer to each of them.

I have the same phone and I am sick and tired of having to reboot it every day. Don't install any new software because Windows Mobile needs huge memory and processor resources to run (just like any other Microsoft stuff).
