Hello, I'm having WMP 11 issues on Vista Home Premium, 32-bit version. Since yesterday I'm not able to play XviD video's anymore. I've had installed K-Lite Codec Pack since I've got my computer and that always worked fine for me. I'm not an expert at this, so I don't know if it really is a codec problem, cause else WMP would tell me which coded is missing, right ? GSpot tells me the right codec(s) are installed. Whenever I try to play a XviD Video, I'm getting this error (sry for not quite matching translation): "Windows Media Player no longer works. There is being searched for a solution concering the problem..." (after the search) "A problem as a result of which the programme not well works, has appeared. The programme is closed and you get a report as a solution is available." Looking in Windows 'Problem reports and solutions' I'm finding this info: Problem with signature Name of problem event: APPCRASH Name of the application: wmplayer.exe Version of application: 11.0.6001.7000 time temple of application: 47919356 Name of error module: fun_avcodec.dll Version of error module: 0.0.0.0 time temple of error module: 441fa1ef exception code: c0000005 exception fork: 000a6462 Version of control system: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3 Countrysetting-id: 2067 Additional information 1: 8445 Additional information 2: de8b25fcfa6dea85e8bf1c5efbe860d3 Additional information 3: 0960 Additional information 4: 67720dec4b80b489bf42f8ba83cd58c2 Extra information on the problem Bucket-id: 740003984 Someone can help me out pls ?
I did try to install the codec pack (K-Lite Codec Pack Full) again, but without result. Of course I cleaned up my registry before reinstalling. I also tried Vista Codec Pack, but does not work either,,, I'm tho able to play all other video formats, so it is a codec prob
Try to uninstall the k-lite codec pack and then download Ace Mega Codecs from http://www.free-codecs.com/ace_mega_codecs_pack_download.htm install it and make sure that you do a custom install and select all codecs and then try to play the xvid again, should now work.
