Windows live Enable POP3 for free users

Finally Microsoft is making some smart moves, on 13th march 2009 Microsoft announced to provide free POP3 services to all its users. compared to gmail, live mail has still long journey ahed. but for office live users, its a great bonus; especially if you own the free domain for life account.

Here’s the information to configure your account on your preferred e-mail client:

POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID (full email address)
Password: Hotmail or Windows Live password
SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25 or 587)
Authentication required? Yes (same POP username and password)
TLS/SSL required? Yes
